About the Maker

Holly's era-defying work is fun and colourful, embodying an effortless elegance that is simple yet stylish. She studied at the London College of Fashion, where she found her love of millinery at her internship with The English National Opera. Since then, she has honed her craft with some of the best in the business: Justin Smith, Philip Treacy and Jane Taylor.

Process

Working from her studio in Veryan, Cornwall, Holly hand makes all of her pieces using traditional couture techniques. She is inspired by the best of fashion from the past, the Cornish coastline and artists such as Barbara Hepworth and Naum Gabo.

"Fashion found me at an early age; when I was 8 years old I was taught how to sew and my first foray into the world of fashion was to cast off the school pinafore dress and custom-craft my own buttercup yellow creation. This was the start of a life-long love affair. When you strip back the glitz, the glamour, the sequins and the hours of stitching behind what I do, you'll find I'm still that girl in the yellow dress; the girl that never lost her sense of fun and stayed true to her first love, fashion."
