About the Maker

Kim is a visual artist and creative facilitator based in Cornwall. She has a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from Nottingham Trent University and a Masters in Contemporary Visual Art from Falmouth. Kim's work is concerned with relationships to the natural world and is deeply influenced by the places she finds herself in. Autobiography, temporality and journeying are recurring themes.

Process

Kim works with a variety of mark-making techniques, including paint, print-making, drawing and photography to portray a sense of place or state of being. She particularly enjoys painting on found objects and working in miniature as well as creating site-specific artefacts.

"Making is a meditative process for me. It connects me back to myself, as well as to the natural world surrounding me. My hope is that my work encourages people to reconnect with nature around them, even for the briefest of moments.”
